I can’t think of a better first post then to talk about the shopping experience I had on Friday with one of my best friends. My friend had not shopped in over a year since she found out she was pregnant and was in desperate need for new work clothes and jeans. She has shed all her baby weight and looks AMAZING!!! We had a few goals…
- Get her thinking outside the box of black pants and striped shirts
- Find affordable, yet well made clothes that she could wear to work and out after work
- Make her feel like a hip 33 year old!!!
Luckily for my friend early June is great time to find sales because a lot of retailers are getting rid of spring clothes or their first batch of summer clothes and we were in luck!!! I surprised her and took her into Anthropology, which usually she finds too expensive but found a great skirts on sale. This skirt really flattered her and was very versatile. She could wear it to work with a white button down or sweater seat. She could even sneak color in it and wear a pink button down too. On weekends she could wear a white t-shirt with it to make it little more casual. She could wear this into the fall. Especially in Atlanta.
Next stop Banana Republic. We were able to find a cute black and white cardigan that had a geometric pattern on it that was outside what she normally would have bought! Plus it was on sale and a solid color sweaters that she could pair with what she already owned. She has funky jewelry that would be perfect with solid colored sweaters. We were still on a mission for jeans and she had not loved any that we had seen. We went to the Gap and found some!
