Recently a new college grad wrote to me and asked if I could help him update his wardrobe. He had started his first job in tech and wanted to look the part. This client was open to a new look, but he liked classy, elegant, and monochrome clothes. He also liked to layer shirts, sweaters and jackets. Though his office was very casual, he wanted to look polished, but not too corporate. He was 5’8, 29” waist, and a size small on top, with broad shoulders.
- I looked for brands that were cut a little slimmer, Reiss, Ted Baker, & Theory.
- Pay attention to fit. Clothes that fit well will make you look more put-together
- Tailoring these items was easy, and created a polished causal wardrobe that reflected his personal sense of style.
You can find some of his looks here.
